Social Teachings of the Church

I wrote the article "Sabhayute Samoohika Prabodhanam" (Social Teachings of the Church)in 1991. It gives an account of the church documents on social issues in connection with the centenary celebrations of the first social encyclical letter Rerum Novarum of Pope Leo XIII. I have got first pririze for this article in an essay competition conducted in St. Josephs's Pontifical Seminary, Aluva, Kerala. The article was published in Christava Kahalam (1991 August Issue). This article is included in the collection of my essays Daivajanam (1998, 2000).

Kingdom of God and the Rich

I wrote the article "Dhanikarkku Daivarajyamanyamo?" (Are the Rich Alien to the Kingdom of God?) in 1990. I wrote this article during the time of my regency in the Archbishop's House, Pattom, Trivandrum. This article was published in Talent (1992 August Issue). It deals with the Biblical view on the rich. The article is included in the collection of my essays, Daivajanam (1998, 2000).

Telihard de Chardin

On my regency period (1990-1991) during my priestly formation I wrote an article on Teilhard de Chardin, a famous French Jesuit theologian. It dealt with Teilhard's view on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The article argued that the cosmic evolution has to culminate in the Risen Christ. The article was first published in Christava Kahalam (1991 April Issue). This article was republished in the theologico-philosophical journal Mathavum Chinthayum (1995 March-April Issue). It is included in the collection of my essays Daivajanam (1998, 2000).

Priestly Formation

The first article which I published is "Vaidika Pariseelana Khattangal". It was written on the request of Johnson Kaimalayil who was doing regency with the publication of Christava Kahalam. The article was published in the Daivavili Pathippu of Christava Kahalam in 1990. It was included in the collection of my essays Daivajanam (1998, 2000). The article gives an account of the priestly formation in the Catholic Church.

Vetikkettu: My First Short Story

My first writing was a short story named "Vetikkettu". It was actually written for the Magazine Upasana (1988) of St. Mary's Malankara Seminary. It was republished in the periodical Christava Kahalam. It dealt with the accident and future life of a catholic priest. I wonder how I met with such a dangerous accident and received even the last sacrament in 1996 at Trivandrum. But as we read at the end of the story this accident was a major turning point in my life.
